In the Philadelphia area, we have brought together six outstanding firms as Alera Group Philadelphia. This includes Pentra, HealthFirst, Somerset Capital, Vantage Point, Perspective Financial Group and HR inTune. Recently, Lamb Benefits – Employee Benefits Division joined our team. Every owner of each firm remains an equity partner in Alera Group. Our mission is to enhance our clients’ experience in tangible and measurable ways by building on the foundation of each firm. We strive to deliver the best possible outcomes—positively impacting our employees, clients, communities and the lives of people we serve.

Brooke Sherwin
Benefit ConsultantBrooke serves as a Benefits Consultant who partners closely with clients to deliver proactive, strategic solutions for their health and welfare benefits programs.
With a strong focus on plan design, cost analysis, and the development of innovative alternatives, Brooke ensures her clients receive personalized support and expert guidance. She also collaborates closely with vendor partners to guarantee smooth implementation and ongoing coordination.
Brooke’s strong attention to detail and organized approach, combined with her commitment to overseeing projects from start to finish, make her a valuable asset to Alera Group. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Fairleigh Dickinson University and has more than six years of experience in the insurance industry.

Karen Thiel
Benefit AnalystKaren serves as a Benefit Analyst. She is responsible for assisting consultants with all aspects of client service, including proposals, audits and renewals. In addition, working as an advocate for employees, Karen thoroughly researches, and resolves claim issues, and handles enrollment issues as required.

Mai Vance
Director of Underwriting
Mai Vance is the Director of Underwriting. She has been in the insurance and financial services industry since 1989. As the Director of Underwriting, Mai serves as the primary liaison with carriers, medical institutions, clients and their advisors, to facilitate the medical and financial aspects of the underwriting process. Mai is also responsible for the implementation and servicing of multiple-life disability & life insurance programs.
Mai currently holds the PA Life/Health License, the Associate, Life Management Institute (ALMI) and the Associate Customer Service (ACS) designations from LOMA.
When she is not taking care of our underwriting needs, she is busy taking care of her family, which includes her husband and two children. They reside in North Coventry Township.
Favorite movie? The Notebook.
Favorite song? Take it Easy, by the Eagles
First thing you do when you go home from work? Hug & pet my dog, Jager.

Nicole Watson
Benefit Consultant
Nicole serves as a Benefit Consultant. Nicole works closely with clients to establish strong, active relationships and provides proactive and consultative services.
She demonstrates a high level of proficiency in benefit administration, compliance, and employee communication. Her commitment to managing projects from the initial stage to completion, along with her detailed oriented style, contributes to her success at Alera Group and the bond she has with each of her clients.
Nicole has many years of experience in the industry that give her the ability to thrive throughout her roles in the firm. Nicole holds a Bachelor's degree in Adult and Organizational Development from Temple University.
Rules to live by? Be happy and live every day to its fullest, since you never know what tomorrow will bring.
What did you want to be when you grew up? An Oceanographer! I always wanted to swim with the whales at Sea World.
Childhood nickname? Beaner, since my maiden name is Bean. It still sticks with me today.
What is your favorite T.V. show? Any show on the ID channel. I love a good murder mystery!
